My name is Charis Renise Lyons, and I am the School Nutrition Manager for Henry County Schools. I have proudly served Smith-Barnes Elementary School for 13 years.
I was born and raised in Rockdale and Henry County, and I graduated from Eagle’s Landing High School in McDonough, Georgia. I continued my education at Gainesville College in Gainesville, Georgia, where I earned a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. I then worked in the childcare field for 10 years.
I was honored to be named ESPY of the Year at Smith-Barnes Elementary in both 2019 and 2025, and I received the Henry County Schools, School Nutrition Hero Award in 2022.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and working on the computer. I also love collecting dolphins and Precious Moments ornaments. Most of all, I have a passion for working with children of all ages and helping support their success every day.
